Urology Surgery

What is urological surgery? Urology is a surgical procedure for the treatment of kidney pain, urethral issues and male genital disease. The urology issue is defined as any disease or disorder that affects male reproductive organs or male and female urinary system (kidneys, bladder, ureter and urethra). Some common urological diseases may include:

  • Prostate cancer
  • Kidney cancer
  • Bladder cancer
  • Urinary tract obstruction
  • Kidney stone
  • Prostate enlargement
  • Vesicoureteral reflux
  • Testicular diseases

When the changes in lifestyle, medicine, or other options do not relieve symptoms, the doctor may recommend surgery. Surgery can include:

  • Open surgery (through a large incision)
  • Minimal invasive surgery (laparoscopy) performed through very small cuts.
